Information

LOADSHEDDING

We would like to take a moment to explain an aspect of life in South Africa that you may encounter during your stay here: load shedding. Load shedding is a term used to describe planned power outages that occur when there is an insufficient supply of electricity to meet the demand.

These outages are temporary and are implemented by the power utility company, Eskom, to prevent a complete system failure. During load shedding, electricity is intentionally interrupted for a certain period of time in specific areas. This may affect various aspects of daily life, including wedding venues, as power outages can occur during scheduled load shedding times.

While it may be an inconvenience, alternative power solutions such as generators will be used to mitigate the impact of these outages, we appreciate your understanding.

TRANSPORTATION

As you plan your trip to Cape Town for our wedding, we wanted to share some transportation options with you.

When holidaying in Cape Town, we usually opt to rent a car. There are several car rental
companies available at the airport and we strongly suggest pre booking your car before arrival.

Alternatively, you can use Uber for transportation around the city. We recommend using Uber Black and verifying the drivers details before hopping in. It’s best to avoid regular taxis if possible.

BABYSITTING

Professional babysitters will be on-site to ensure a safe and engaging environment for the
children. Please let us know in advance if you’ll be needing this service in the RSVP section below.

VISAS AND PASSPORTS
Just a friendly reminder to check your visa requirements before flying. Passports should be valid for at least 30 days from the date of exit, but it’s recommended that you have at least six months on your passport before it expires. Your passport should also have at least two blank pages when you enter or leave South Africa.

WEATHER AND CLIMATE

With an average high of 83°(28°C) and a low of 58° (14°C) in March. It generally feels pleasantly warm with a gentle breeze.

A sun hat is advisable.
